Four Friends Among Eight Killed in Tarapith Hotel Fire
Some friends went on a trip to visit a temple in a town called Tarapith.
They stayed at a hotel for the night.
Early in the morning, a fire started near the hotel's front desk.
The friends were staying on the third floor.
Sadly, the thick smoke made it hard for them to breathe, and they passed away.
Other people from a place called Meghalaya were also hurt in the fire, and some of them were children.
The police are helping the families and making plans to bring the bodies home.
The families are very sad, and people in the town are trying to support them.

Four friends from north Bengal died in a fire at a hotel in Tarapith on Monday morning after travelling from Deoghar to visit the Tarapith temple.
The victims were identified as Amit Pal, Subir Saha, Kamal Roy, and Rakesh Singh, residents of Alipurduar and Dhupguri.
The fire broke out near the hotel's reception area while the group was on the third floor; police suspect cardiac respiratory failure caused by heavy smoke.
Five people from Meghalaya, including two children, were also among the eight reported killed, with six more from the state injured.
Authorities arranged for the bodies to reach Alipurduar by road late Monday night, with BJP MLA Paritosh Das seeking support from Suvendu Adhikari.
