Gangster Arrested in Surat BJP Worker’s May Murder
Police in Surat arrested a gangster over the alleged killing of a young BJP worker.
The arrested man came from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district.
The victim was 21-year-old Jayesh Dalal, also known as Jay.
He was attacked by three or four men in Udhna on May 18.
He later died from his injuries in a hospital.
Dalal was a youth wing leader in Surat’s BJP unit.
This is the fourth arrest in the case.
Police said the arrested gangster had previously been booked in 21 criminal cases.
Surat police arrested a gangster from Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district over the alleged murder of BJP worker Jayesh Dalal.
Dalal, 21, was attacked by three to four men in Udhna on May 18 and later died in hospital.
Dalal was a youth wing leader in Surat’s BJP unit and lived in Dindoli.
The arrest is the fourth in the murder case registered at Dindoli police station.
Police said the arrested man, Sonavne, had been booked in 21 cases involving murder, attempted murder, extortion, robbery and Arms Act violations.
