Hyderabad suspends four eateries’ food safety licences after inspections

Telangana food safety officials suspended the licences of four Hyderabad eateries after finding serious hygiene violations.

Seven teams inspected 13 restaurants and canteens across the city on October 13.

The inspections found problems including cockroaches and rodents, food waste on floors, stagnant water and clogged drains.

A fifth establishment, Padmasree Canteen, was ordered to stop operating because it lacked a food safety licence and had unhygienic conditions.

Officials collected 16 food samples for testing to check whether they meet safety standards.

The inspections aim to address conditions that officials said could risk public health.

Officials plan further inspections and notices, with additional action to depend on the findings.
