Survey Finds 75% of Indonesians Stressed by Government Policies

A survey by the Center of Economic and Law Studies, or Celios, found that 75% of 1,142 Indonesian public respondents felt stressed by government policies under President Prabowo Subianto.

The survey also found that 67% felt stressed by Prabowo’s behavior.

It covered respondents across Indonesia and was part of an assessment of the administration led by Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Household costs were a major concern: 82% said taxes and government levies were too burdensome, and 78% cited rising prices for basic goods.

More than half said their household finances had worsened compared with the previous year.

The findings matter because they point to public strain over both government policy and the cost of living.

Celios recruited public respondents through online ads using non-probability sampling, so the figures describe those surveyed and are not based on random selection.
