Nearly 65% of surveyed Brazilian companies lack gender pay equity policies
A survey of 485 companies in Brazil found that 64.96% have not adopted any gender pay equity rules.
The country’s 2023 law guarantees equal pay for women and men and also requires salary transparency.
Only 18.33% of the surveyed companies reported formal guidelines to address pay gaps between men and women doing the same jobs.
Other measures were also uncommon: fewer than 17% had initiatives to support women’s inclusion or leadership.
Among companies with pay equity policies, results varied, and fewer than three in ten rated the policies very effective.
The survey also found that, among companies with more than 100 employees, 41.49% said they shared pay transparency reports both internally and externally, while 17.31% had not shared them.
The findings show that many companies have yet to put measures connected to the law into practice.
