Tarcísio steps up social media attacks on Lula and backs Flávio Bolsonaro

São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas has become more active in opposing President Lula on social media after the first round of Brazil’s elections.

He has also more strongly backed Flávio Bolsonaro’s candidacy.

In recent posts, Tarcísio attacked Lula’s campaign and accused the left of being linked to corruption.

He shared an audio recording in which former banker Daniel Vorcaro says he financed a film about Lula.

Investigators suspect the recording may have been made illegally in prison, and Vorcaro has not given testimony to the Federal Police or the prosecutor general’s office.

Tarcísio also shared a video of Amazon fires and accused the left of failing to respond to environmental problems.
