Wildberries plans $140 million distribution hub near Tashkent
Wildberries, a major Russian online retailer, plans to build a distribution complex near Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital.
The project is expected to cost $140 million and create about 7,500 jobs, but no opening date has been announced.
The company says the complex will support local producers and serve customers in Uzbekistan and Russia.
Wildberries is also planning warehouses near Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan, which are expected to be ready in 2027.
The company’s Russian warehouse operations have been badly disrupted by Ukrainian drone attacks, which have damaged eight of its 10 largest warehouses.
In Uzbekistan, three Wildberries representatives are set to join the board of the national postal service, O’zbekiston Pochtasi.
The arrangement appears to include company funding to upgrade deliveries, as the postal service’s revenue fell 17 percent in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
