Orta Anadolu to close its Kayseri textile plants

Orta Anadolu, a Turkish textile company founded in 1953, plans to permanently close its production plants in Kayseri on October 12, 2026.

The company stopped production on September 11 and says employees’ contracts are due to end on October 12.

For decades, it supplied denim fabric to international clothing brands.

The company says weak global demand, higher operating and financing costs, supply-chain changes and tougher competition made its production model unsustainable.

It plans to pay workers’ severance, notice and other legal entitlements in a single payment by November 7.

That is a promised deadline, not confirmation that payments have been made.

The company also says it is preparing extra support for workers and their families, but its scope and timing have not been decided.
