Slim-backed INCA plans to list on Mexico’s stock exchange through a spin-off

Inversiones de Capital INCA, a new independent company, is preparing to list on the Mexican Stock Exchange.

It will be created through a spin-off by Grupo Financiero Inbursa, rather than through an initial public offering.

Inbursa plans to place 2.016 billion shares, giving INCA share capital of 40 billion pesos.

About 37.7% of the shares are to be distributed to public investors, while Carlos Slim and his family are expected to keep about 62.3%.

No initial share price has been set; it will be determined through market mechanisms, and a spin-off auction may take place.

If the exchange accepts the application, Inbursa says it will follow the exchange’s rules and market practices.

INCA would join other Slim-family companies listed in Mexico, including América Móvil, Grupo Carso, Inbursa and Minera Frisco.
