Grimes announces new album Psyopera and releases single Accelerando
Canadian musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, has announced a new album called Psyopera.
It is her first album since Miss Anthropocene, released in 2020.
She has released Accelerando, a dark, intense track made with VADAKIN, as the album’s first preview.
Grimes says artificial intelligence is an important theme on the album, but that she did not use AI to make its songs.
She also says the record will not include songs about her ex, Elon Musk, with whom she shares three children.
Psyopera may be divided into two parts, with the second described by Grimes as entirely personal.
