Houthi attack on Riyadh airport kills 12, including an American

A Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, killed 12 people, including an American citizen.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said 309 people were injured, some critically, and the airport was damaged.

Those killed included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshis and people from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

The Houthis are a Yemeni rebel movement.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio condemned the attack and said the United States stands with Saudi Arabia.

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen called the strike a war crime and said it would respond in line with international humanitarian law.

The sources do not describe what that response will involve.
