Air quality is acceptable in Mexico City and nearby State of Mexico

At 3 p.m.

on October 10, air quality in Mexico City and nearby parts of the State of Mexico was rated acceptable, with a moderate risk to health.

The rating applies to the metropolitan area monitored by Mexico City’s Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate.

Most reporting stations in both areas recorded good air quality, while Tlalnepantla recorded acceptable air quality and some stations had no data or were under maintenance.

The acceptable level can affect sensitive people, including those with asthma or heart and lung conditions, older adults, and children.

Authorities advise sensitive groups to consider limiting vigorous outdoor activity when air quality is at this level.

The UV index was 3, so people outdoors were advised to use sun protection, including sunscreen, a hat, and UV-filtering glasses.

The monitoring directorate publishes updates hourly.
