Mary Gibbs, who voiced Boo in Monsters, Inc., turns 30

Mary Gibbs, who voiced Boo in Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., has turned 30.

She marked her birthday in an Instagram post on Oct.

11 with a side-by-side photo from 2022 and one from the film’s 2001 premiere.

Gibbs was a toddler when she recorded Boo’s lines, and her father, storyboard artist Rob Gibbs, brought her in to help with the animation.

She later voiced young Riley in Pixar’s Inside Out.

Gibbs has said she remembers little from making Monsters, Inc., though she recalls playing a magnetic fish game in the studio.

The voice actors recorded separately, so she first met the cast at the premiere, where Billy Crystal helped her feel at ease.

Gibbs still attends fan conventions and says meeting fans is one of her favorite parts of being associated with the film.
