Quebec’s minority Parti Québécois government may need rivals’ support

The Parti Québécois won the Quebec election but fell five seats short of a majority.

That means it may need help from other parties to pass measures and stay in power.

Québec solidaire and the Conservatives could have influence, though their priorities differ from the PQ’s.

The PQ wants Quebec to become independent, but a referendum is not an early priority.
