Hulu Orders Ryan Coogler’s Reimagining of The X-Files
Hulu has ordered a new X-Files series developed by filmmaker Ryan Coogler.
The original show followed FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully and ran from 1993 to 2002, with two later seasons in 2016 and 2018.
Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will lead the new version as two highly decorated but very different FBI agents.
They are assigned to a long-shuttered division and form a strong bond while working together.
The project is described as a reimagining of the franchise, keeping the partnership at its heart while taking the series in a new direction.
Amy Madigan, Steve Buscemi and Ben Foster will appear in the pilot, but further story and cast details have not been announced.
