Poilievre urges Ottawa to sue Stelco’s U.S. owner over layoffs

Stelco’s owner, Cleveland-Cliffs, said up to 500 workers could be laid off.

Pierre Poilievre wants the federal government to sue the company, saying it should keep its commitments to workers.

His plan also includes changes to carbon taxes, steel imports and trade with the United States.

The dispute matters because Stelco’s operations and jobs are at risk.
