Former Singapore primary school department head charged with voyeurism

A 45-year-old former head of department at a primary school in Singapore has been charged with voyeurism.

He is accused of intentionally recording a video of a female victim’s genital area at the school in 2023.

The court has barred the publication of details that could identify the victim, including the school’s name.

The man has indicated that he will plead guilty, and a date for that plea was set for November.

He has been suspended since June and no longer teaches at any school, according to Singapore’s Ministry of Education.

The case comes amid other recent court cases involving teachers accused or convicted of sexual misconduct.

If convicted, he could face up to two years in prison, a fine, caning, or a combination of those penalties.
