Brewers beat Dodgers 2-1 in NLCS opener

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 in the opening game of the National League Championship Series in Milwaukee.

Brice Turang hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, and rookie Luis Lara drove in the go-ahead run with a single in the fifth.

The Dodgers scored once but left nine runners on base and hit into three double plays.

Milwaukee’s bullpen took over after starter Jacob Misiorowski left in the fifth and limited Los Angeles to two hits.

The win ended the Brewers’ seven-game postseason losing streak against the Dodgers, who swept them in last year’s NLCS.

The series decides which team advances to the World Series, while the Brewers are seeking their first championship.

Game 2 is scheduled for Monday in Milwaukee, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto starting for Los Angeles and Logan Henderson for Milwaukee.
