Canada’s Carney condemns Houthi strike on Riyadh airport

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, calling them abhorrent.

His statement followed a strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said 12 people were killed and 309 injured.

The dead included people from Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine and Sudan.

Carney said attacks on civilian infrastructure cannot be justified by political or military goals.

He offered condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a full recovery.

The statement did not say what action, if any, Canada would take next.
