Nash Morris spins in opening-lap Bathurst 1000 clash

The Bathurst 1000 began with a clash at the Cutting on the opening lap.

Nash Morris’s PremiAir Racing Chevrolet Camaro was caught between James Moffat’s Garry Rogers Motorsport Camaro and Tony D’Alberto’s Dick Johnson Racing Mustang.

Morris’s car half-spun, while Moffat suffered a right-front puncture and steering damage.

Moffat had to pit and fell a lap behind.

Aaron Seton, starting from pole, led the opening lap for Matt Stone Racing.

The race also began with power-steering problems for the Triple Eight Ford Mustang shared by Jackson Walls and Jack Perkins, which was forced to pit within the first 10 laps.

The race is underway, but the early damage and delays have affected several cars.
