German production rose 2% in August despite low Rhine water
German industry, construction and energy providers produced 2% more in August than in July.
The increase came even as record-low water on the Rhine disrupted shipping and made it harder to transport goods.
Construction led the rise, while industrial production increased more modestly and energy production fell slightly.
