Putin relayed Iran’s views on resolving a conflict to Trump, Kremlin says

Russian President Vladimir Putin told US President Donald Trump how Iran views a possible resolution to a conflict, the Kremlin said.

The Kremlin said Putin did this with the approval of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Putin had met Pezeshkian during a summit in Turkmenistan earlier that week.

He told Pezeshkian he would soon speak with Trump.

The Kremlin said much of the phone call focused on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, at the US side’s request.

It also said Putin responded with understanding to some US proposals for reducing tensions.

Putin has said he is willing to help with peace talks, but no further steps were announced.
