Adana jeweller killed in shooting; 10 suspects jailed
Jeweller Zahir Cız was killed in a shooting on October 4 in Seyhan, a district of Adana, Turkey.
A 39-year-old man sitting with him was seriously wounded.
Police identified 22-year-old Osman Altun as the suspected gunman and said he had watched Cız before the attack.
Cız was reportedly close to a local group called Şirinler and had been threatened about two years earlier by a figure linked to the Bayğaralar crime group.
Police said Bayğaralar promised to help Altun leave Turkey in return for killing Cız.
Investigators said Altun later travelled to Kuşadası and was preparing to flee to Greece by boat.
Police arrested Altun and nine other suspects, and a court ordered all 10 jailed after they were questioned.
