Bitcoin lump-sum investing only slightly outperformed monthly plans

People investing in Bitcoin can put in a larger amount at once or buy a set amount each month.

Historically, lump-sum investing often did better because the money was invested sooner and could benefit fully from price rises.

But Bitcoin’s price swings have become smaller than they were in its early years, weakening that advantage.

A comparison of 53 rolling 12-month periods from July 2021 found that a lump sum beat monthly purchases in 58% of cases.

Its average advantage in those periods was about $192.

The results also depended on when the lump sum was invested: purchases made from mid-2021 to mid-2022, and from mid-2025, often did worse than monthly buying.

This means investors with money ready to invest may have to weigh the potential gains from investing it sooner against the risk of choosing a poor time.

Für Anleger, die das Kapital bereits besitzen und langfristig investieren möchten, spricht unsere historische Analyse häufiger für die Einmalanlage. Das Kapital ist früher im Markt und nimmt vollständig an Kursanstiegen teil.
