Trump criticises Nobel committee after Navi Pillay wins peace prize
US President Donald Trump criticised the Nobel committee after it awarded the 2026 Peace Prize to Navi Pillay.
He spoke at a rally in Syracuse, New York, and said the United States, represented by him, should have won.
Pillay is a South African jurist and former UN human rights chief, recognised for work promoting peace and international law.
Trump called the decision disgraceful and said it stained Norway, where the Nobel committee is based.
He also described Pillay as someone few people had heard of and repeated his claim that he had settled several wars.
Trump said he was about to settle the conflicts involving Iran and Russia and Ukraine, and made a threat about Iran.
Pillay joked that she might share the prize with Trump if the audience applauded more, but the Nobel committee has said the prize cannot be transferred.

This story does not have two clearly opposing sides.
The United States of America, represented by me as your president, should have received the Nobel peace prize, but didn’t.
The Nobel peace prize has been forever discredited by a handful of radical ideologues who are anti-democracy and really enemies of civilization,
Iran will be very quick one way or the other: that they give us everything or they don’t exist any longer.
If you clap a little bit more, I may share this prize with Trump,
