Woman killed by former husband had saved him after overdose attempt

Gülşah Oktay, 33, was shot and killed in the Arsin district of Trabzon, Turkey, on October 6.

Police say her former husband, Aydın Yediparmak, fired seven shots during an argument near his home.

The couple had divorced about three weeks earlier and had a child together.

About two weeks before the killing, Oktay found Yediparmak ill after he took pills and called emergency services.

He was treated at a hospital and survived.

Yediparmak told police that they had argued over money and admitted shooting her.

He was arrested and jailed while facing a charge of intentional killing.
