Man killed in tiger attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park identified as William Chapman

William Chapman was killed by a tiger after entering its enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster.

Police said he went into the enclosure shortly after 13:30 BST on Saturday and died at the scene.

Chapman was visiting the park alone, and his family is being supported by specialist officers.

The park was evacuated and remains closed while investigations continue.

Doncaster Council has opened a health and safety investigation, and campaigners have called for an urgent review of how Chapman got into the enclosure.

The tiger, named Altai, will not be euthanised and remains in its enclosure.

The investigations will examine how the incident happened.
