Two men arrested over alleged bank card theft on flight to Singapore

Police arrested two men at Singapore’s Changi Airport after a flight from Ho Chi Minh City.

The Chinese nationals, aged 54 and 59, were arrested on Monday during an operation targeting theft on aircraft.

Police say each man took bank cards from a different passenger’s bag stored in an overhead compartment.

The passengers left the plane without noticing their cards were missing.

The men were found with three bank cards that did not belong to them.

They are due to be charged with theft on board an aircraft, an offence that can bring up to three years in jail, a fine, or both if they are convicted.

Police advised passengers to keep valuables with them and alert cabin crew if they see someone searching through overhead baggage.
