Black bras and sleeping in one are not linked to breast cancer, surgeon says

There is no reliable evidence that black bras, tight bras or sleeping in a bra cause breast cancer.

An ill-fitting bra can still cause discomfort or skin irritation.

Watch for changes such as a new lump, skin dimpling or nipple changes.

A doctor can assess unusual changes and decide whether tests are needed.
