Trai seeks comments on draft audit rules for DRM-based TV systems

Trai has proposed new ways to check records in digital TV systems that use digital rights management, or DRM.

The checks are meant to confirm that monthly subscriber reports sent to broadcasters are accurate and complete.

The draft also calls for monthly comparisons of subscriber data and for reports to be kept for at least three years or three audit cycles, whichever is later.

Industry stakeholders can comment on the proposal by October 30.
