Ankara opens short-term care centre for families of disabled people
Turkey has opened its first Nefes Centre in Ankara, at the Saray Care, Rehabilitation and Family Counselling Centre.
It provides short-term care for disabled people so their families can leave them in a safe place when needed.
Families can use the service for up to 30 days in a year, and the centre has space for 24 people, with separate units for women and men.
The need may arise when a family member has surgery, travels outside the city or faces another emergency.
The wider Saray centre serves 779 disabled people and offers rehabilitation and social and cultural activities.
