Middle East and North Africa sovereign investment forecast at $136 billion in 2026

Sovereign investors in the Middle East and North Africa made $102 billion in investments through 245 deals in the first nine months of 2026.

A consultancy expects investment to reach $136 billion by the end of the year, the region’s second-highest level on record.

The United States received 45% of the investment value, while the UAE received $18.2 billion.

Technology, including artificial intelligence, accounted for about 30% of investment value.

The consultancy also said Gulf sovereign funds took part in supporting a roughly $110 billion Warner Bros acquisition.

It warned that Qatar and Kuwait may need to transfer money from their sovereign funds to government budgets as reduced oil and gas exports linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz put pressure on public finances.

The consultancy expects regional sovereign fund assets to grow from $6.1 trillion in September 2026 to $8.8 trillion by 2030.
