Pereira accuses UFC and Cormier of shaping support for Gane-Hokit fight

Pereira accuses UFC and Cormier of shaping support for Gane-Hokit fight

Alex Pereira is unhappy that he was not booked for the UFC heavyweight title fight.

He says his earlier fight with Ciryl Gane ended after illegal strikes to the back of his head and that he wanted an immediate rematch.

The UFC announced that Gane will fight Josh Hokit for the undisputed title at UFC 334.

Pereira is scheduled to face Sergei Pavlovich in the co-main event at UFC 335.

Pereira alleges that the UFC used influencers, including Daniel Cormier, to build public support for the Gane-Hokit matchup.

Cormier’s views, Pereira says, did not make sense.

A win over Pavlovich could put Pereira in line to fight the winner of Gane and Hokit.
