Saskatchewan pilot killed in air ambulance crash off Massachusetts coast

Thomas Henry Farquhar, a pilot originally from Regina, was the first officer on an air ambulance that crashed off the coast of Massachusetts on Oct.

3.

The aircraft was flying from Bermuda to Boston with six people aboard.

It belonged to Latitude Air Ambulance, based in Hamilton, and carried four Canadian staff and two Bermuda nationals.

Farquhar graduated from Prairie Aviation Training Centre in Alberta in 2023 after moving there to train as a pilot.

His family has set up a scholarship to support future pilots who want to use their skills to help others.

The plane lost contact with air traffic controllers, and audio suggests it may have had electrical problems before it went down near Nantucket.

The U.S. Coast Guard found debris and suspended its search on Oct.

4.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board is investigating, and Latitude says it is co-operating.
