Nannup hosts first UCI Gravel World Championships outside Europe
Nannup, a town of about 1,000 people in southern Western Australia, hosted the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships.
It was the first time the elite event had been held outside Europe.
Almost 1,000 competitors raced over two days on courses through the Blackwood Valley, with routes reaching 144 kilometres.
Dutch cyclist Marianne Vos won the elite women’s title, becoming the first person to win the gravel world championships twice.
The event was expected to attract a global audience of up to 130 million people.
Local officials hope the championship will draw more visitors to the area’s mountain-bike trails and raise the town’s profile.
Organisers and local officials have not said what will happen next.
