Erdoğan backs stronger ties among young people from the Turkic world

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan sent a video message to a youth gathering in Kocaeli, Turkey.

The event brought together hundreds of young people from across the Turkic world from October 9 to 11.

It was held under the theme “Shared Heritage, One Heart” and coordinated by a department of Turkey’s ruling AK Party, with Kocaeli’s metropolitan municipality as host.

Erdoğan said ties among these communities extend beyond national borders and rest on shared history, culture and personal bonds.

He said Turkey would continue to support young people working toward a shared, prosperous future.

He also said Turkey aims to advance unity in language, ideas and work at the 13th Organization of Turkic States summit, planned for later in October in Ankara.

The gathering was intended to strengthen connections among young people from different parts of the Turkic world.
