Five Asian Producers Groups Form Alliance in Busan
Five independent producer organizations from Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan have formed the Asian Producers Alliance.
They launched it at the Asian Contents & Film Market in Busan, South Korea.
The groups say they want to help producers work together on films across borders and protect creators’ intellectual property.
The alliance is intended to develop into a shared body with a formal decision-making structure.
Its representatives and secretaries will serve one-year terms, with elections at an annual assembly in Busan.
The alliance plans to meet online every three months and says other producers’ organizations in the region can join.
Its next gathering is planned for December at the JAFF Market in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, and will focus on creators’ intellectual property.
