French court sentences student to 20 years for online abuse of minors

Rohan Rane ran an online group where he forced teenage girls to hurt themselves sexually.

A Paris court found him guilty of multiple crimes and sentenced him to 20 years in prison.

Most of the roughly 20 identified victims were American, and the youngest was 12.

The case is France’s first trial to address what the article calls “nihilistic violent extremism.”
