Romanian airline AnimaWings suspends flights while seeking court restructuring

Romanian airline AnimaWings has suspended all flights from Oct.

2 through Oct.

24 while it seeks court-supervised restructuring.

The pause affects routes from Germany, including Munich to Bucharest and Frankfurt to Cluj-Napoca.

The airline says it plans to restart on Oct.

25, when the winter schedule begins, but has not said how many flights it will operate.

AnimaWings says recurring technical problems left many of its aircraft unavailable and put pressure on its business and finances.

It also points to higher operating and fuel costs and reduced customer purchasing power.

The restructuring process is intended to reorganize the airline’s debts and help it continue operating.

Passengers booked during the suspension are to receive cancellation emails, with refunds handled under applicable rules; no payment timetable has been given.

The airline advises passengers booked after the planned restart to check their booking status before travelling to the airport.
