Brewers and Dodgers See NLCS Rematch as a Close Contest

The Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers are facing each other in the National League Championship Series for the second year in a row.

The Dodgers won their last meeting quickly, and they have won the past two World Series, as well as a much larger payroll.

But Milwaukee won a franchise-record 103 games this season and claimed the NL Central for the fourth straight year.

The Brewers also have young players who have improved, including pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who will start Game 1.

Misiorowski struck out nine Dodgers in five innings last October and has since become a stronger starting pitcher.

The Brewers have home-field advantage, and both teams say Milwaukee should not be treated as an underdog.

What people are saying

They have the best record in baseball. They have that for a reason. And they've got home-field advantage. We’ve got to play our best baseball. They’re certainly not afraid of us. They've got the guy who's going to win the Cy Young in the National League starting Game 1, so we’ve got our work cut out.

I think the only thing is confidence. Going into last year’s postseason, I didn’t know if I was going to be on the roster. I didn’t know if I was going to make it and help the team. This year, they trust me a little bit more.

I don’t know if there’s any advantage to seeing a guy that throws 105. He’s going to mix it. He’s going to be amped up and coming at us with everything he’s got.
