Kayla Harrison says neck surgery made her question her recovery

Kayla Harrison says a serious neck injury and surgery made her wonder whether she would feel like herself again.

She withdrew from a fight with Amanda Nunes in January, ten days before it was due to take place.

Harrison is the women’s bantamweight champion, and Nunes is her scheduled challenger.

Their rescheduled title fight is set for November 14 at UFC 334 in Madison Square Garden, New York.

Harrison says the recovery was difficult both physically and mentally, but she has returned to training.

She says overcoming the surgery has made her more determined to fight Nunes.

Harrison has also said she could retire after the event unless the UFC reopens the featherweight division.
