Eric Simons and James Foster join Stephen Fleming’s England Test staff

England has appointed Stephen Fleming as head coach of its Test team.

Eric Simons and James Foster, who worked with Fleming at Chennai Super Kings (CSK), have joined his England staff.

Simons is a fast-bowling coach, and Foster is a fielding coach.

Fleming left his CSK head coach role after 17 years and is now moving into red-ball cricket, the longer format played in Test matches.

England’s Test team is due to tour South Africa later this year.

Fleming’s other listed assistants include spin-bowling coach Richard Dawson and batting coach Marcus Trescothick.

At CSK, successor Zaheer Khan has been given the go-ahead to choose his own staff, while the club has told batting coach Mike Hussey he is not part of its future plans.
