Paxton says leaked audio shows Cornyn expects him to lose Texas Senate race

Ken Paxton says Senator John Cornyn predicted Paxton would lose the Texas Senate race and wanted to teach Republicans a lesson.

Paxton described the alleged exchange in audio from a private fundraiser that later leaked.

Cornyn’s representative denied the conversation happened, and CNN said it could not verify Paxton’s account.

The dispute highlights divisions among Republicans as the race intensifies.
