Cerro de Pasco Resources wins bid for Peru's Quiulacocha tailings

Cerro de Pasco Resources says its Peruvian subsidiary has been awarded the Quiulacocha tailings in a public auction run by Activos Mineros, or AMSAC.

The tailings are stored at the Quiulacocha Tailings Storage Facility in Peru.

Tailings are material left over after minerals are processed, and the auction is for their economic reprocessing.

The award was made on October 12, 2026.

It is not yet final: the company must sign definitive agreements with AMSAC, which it expects to do in the coming days.

After those agreements are signed, the company expects to hold both the mineral and surface rights over the tailings.

It says these rights, together with its El Metalurgista concession, are expected to consolidate its rights in the area.
