Talonx appoints Botswana copper veteran to help guide Kihabe exploration

Talonx Resources has appointed Steve McGhee as a non-executive director to help guide its work at the Kihabe project in north-west Botswana.

McGhee has more than 30 years of mining and metallurgical experience.

He previously helped MOD Resources advance the T3 copper-silver project in Botswana to feasibility; it is now part of Sandfire Resources’ Motheo Copper Operations.

Talonx is exploring for copper and other metals around Kihabe and Nxuu, which have a reported zinc, lead and silver resource, but no copper is included in that estimate.

Fieldwork has begun at the Gossan prospect, with soil sampling, geological mapping and rock-chip sampling planned to identify areas for further work.

McGhee’s Botswana experience is intended to help the company assess Kihabe’s exploration potential.

The sources do not say what specific exploration work will follow this first stage.

What people are saying

Steve was part of the team that made a significant copper discovery in Botswana and took the project through to a development outcome. That experience is directly relevant to Talonx’s Kihabe project, and his expertise will be invaluable as we assess Kihabe’s exploration potential,
