Sobhana Mostary scores Bangladesh’s first women’s ODI century against Australia

Bangladesh batter Sobhana Mostary scored 118 in the second women’s one-day international against Australia in Brisbane.

She became the first Bangladesh woman to score an ODI century against Australia.

Bangladesh had lost three wickets for eight runs when Mostary and captain Nigar Sultana Joty began rebuilding the innings.

They added 195 runs, a record partnership against Australia in women’s ODIs, and Bangladesh finished on 220/6.

Joty scored 74, while Mostary hit 18 boundaries in her 134-ball innings.

Australia chased down the target in 28.1 overs, winning by nine wickets and securing the series with a match to spare.

Mostary’s century was a landmark for Bangladesh cricket, even though it could not prevent defeat.
