Yogi Adityanath accepts Akhilesh Yadav’s Ayodhya election challenge

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accepted Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav’s challenge to contest the next state Assembly election from Ayodhya.

Adityanath also urged Yadav to run from the same constituency so they could face each other directly.

The exchange took place as campaigning talk builds ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh election.

Adityanath made the remarks in Balrampur, where he inaugurated the foundation stones for 78 development projects worth more than ₹803 crore.

He also predicted that his BJP-led alliance would win 80% of the seats, while the opposition alliance would get 20%.

The Ayodhya challenge highlights the rivalry between the two leaders, but the sources do not say whether Yadav will accept it or where either leader will ultimately contest.
