Puerto Vallarta airport closure extended until Tuesday morning

Puerto Vallarta airport closure extended until Tuesday morning

Puerto Vallarta International Airport in Jalisco, Mexico, will stay closed to all operations until 08:00 on Tuesday, October 13.

The airport operator extended the closure because Hurricane Simon is moving slowly and heavier rain is expected through Sunday and early Monday.

Staff remain on duty to inspect the airport and respond after the storm passes.

Flights can resume only after weather and operating conditions have been assessed with the relevant authorities.

The closure may affect passengers travelling to or from Puerto Vallarta.

Passengers are advised to contact their airlines for flight updates and options to change their travel plans.

The airport has not said when operations will restart beyond the stated closure period.
