Nordic lifts Kopsa gold-equivalent resource by 86% to 1.52 million ounces
Nordic Resources has increased its estimated resource at the Kopsa deposit in central Finland by 86%, to 1.52 million ounces of gold equivalent.
The estimate includes gold, copper and silver, and marks the first time silver was included in Kopsa’s resource calculation.
About 86% of the estimated gold-equivalent ounces are classified as measured or indicated, categories that provide greater confidence in the estimate.
Kopsa is one of three deposits in Finland’s Middle Ostrobothnia Gold Belt, where the company’s combined resource estimate is now 1.93 million ounces of gold equivalent.
The company says Kopsa remains open in most directions and at depth, meaning further drilling could identify more mineralisation.
A 12,000-metre drilling campaign is underway, including about 8,500 metres at Kopsa to expand the resource and improve confidence in it.
Nordic also plans further exploration at nearby prospects, while two existing processing plants are potential options for Kopsa, though no development decision is stated.
Nordic Resources raised the Kopsa project’s gold-equivalent resource by 86% to 1.52 million ounces.
The pit-constrained resource contains 44.03 million tonnes at 1.07 grams per tonne gold equivalent.
Gold accounts for 1.18 million ounces, and 86% of the gold-equivalent ounces are in measured or indicated categories.
The estimate includes silver for the first time and incorporates 9,631 metres of drilling completed through the end of July 2026.
