Man arrested after fake ₹500 notes seized in Bengaluru’s Begur

Police in Begur, Bengaluru, arrested a man identified as Anil on October 10.

They said he was allegedly preparing to deliver fake ₹500 notes to customers on Hosa Road service road in C.K. Nagar.

Police seized the notes and a scooter they said was being used to transport them.

The Parappana Agrahara police have opened a case and are investigating where the counterfeit notes came from and whether other people were involved.

The seizure followed a separate police operation in Bengaluru, where seven people were arrested and 4,337 fake ₹500 notes were seized.

Investigators are checking whether the two cases are linked to a wider counterfeit currency network.

The investigation is ongoing.
